Noelle and Aaron’s wedding at The Chanler, Newport RI

November 20, 2014

By Mariah Ashley

“An Opulent Romance” was the theme for Noelle and Aaron’s wedding at The Chanler at the Cliff Walk in Newport Rhode Island. Doesn’t that conjure a great mental image? I love a well turned phrase. Who better to turn a phrase than our bride Noelle, writer and blogger extraordinaire. The very fashionable Noelle is the founder and author of the Rue Le Chat blog: Lifestyle for the Purrfectly Chic, inspired by her cat Manolo. Noelle chronicles her first class adventures with an emphasis on style and pretty things. Her other half, first class {now} husband Mr. Chat, gets an occasional mention on the Rue Le Chat blog, but we are excited to pull back the velvet curtain and give him a little more of the spotlight!

But first a few of the Opulent Details. Noelle’s invitation suite by Posh and Prep. I love that Noelle had an envelope made out with a generic address in order to highlight the calligraphy. She’s so clever!

The socks and the Bond No. 9 Wall Street cologne were a present from Noelle. I know you are wondering about that jacket… Mr. Chat was styled from head to toe in Hugo Boss. Noelle’s bouquet by Stoneblossom was very special, and was a dedication to her father who has unfortunately passed away. The buttons were taken from her father’s Army coat. The bouquet also featured feathers from her father’s parrot Polly.Wedding at the Chanler0004Guess who? That’s right! It’s the elusive and mysterious Mr. Chat!Wedding at the Chanler0005Noelle with her beautiful mother Stella. I would like some of the genes from this family please, such gorgeous women!

Noelle is picture perfect, or rather painted portrait purrfect.

Noelle’s makeup was done by Jennie Kay Beauty and her hair was done by her very talented aunt, Lydia.Wedding at the Chanler0006Mr. Chat waits patiently for his bride-to-be who approaches for the first look. And gives her a full circle once over!Wedding at the Chanler0008Noelle and Aaron are adorable together. They have such a playful relationship. It was a joy to watch them interact. Kind of like watching a rom-com!Wedding at the Chanler0009And there was no shortage of romance either.Wedding at the Chanler0010I feel these photos completely capture what these two are like. Life must be quite a party experienced side by side.Wedding at the Chanler0011Noelle and Aaron with their opulent venue, The Chanler as a background.

Rain threatened us all day, but we managed to get a wide variety of photographs around the property before it started sprinkling. The Chanler is equally as impressive outside as it is inside so I was thankful we could take advantage of the property. Noelle is so dedicated to his memory. Wedding at the Chanler0015Noelle and Aaron standing at the altar. Because of the rain, the ceremony took place under a tent on the lawn. They treated their 30 guests to many delectable pairings.  A waiter pours champagne for the toasts. Elegant table arrangements by Stoneblossom.Wedding at the Chanler0021Noelle and Aaron were really looking forward to the cocktail hour and enjoying their guests. A small wedding like Noelle and Aaron’s is so wonderfully intimate and affords you the time to pay special attention to everyone because everyone there is important.Wedding at the Chanler0022First Dance shenanigans.Wedding at the Chanler0023A quiet beautiful moment.

My choice for wall portrait! I’d never get sick of the sentiment in this photograph.Wedding at the Chanler0024And a raucous moment… with a great toast from Marcy who infused a bit of humor!Wedding at the Chanler0025Best man Josh took the sweet road for his toast.Wedding at the Chanler0026A fabulous first course served on the Cliff Walk Terrace. Wedding at the Chanler0027Noelle is stunning, who could resist her? Certainly not Mr. Chat.Wedding at the Chanler0028The wind howled and the rain came down but we all stayed toasty inside the terrace. This photo really demonstrates the juxtaposition of the outside conditions verses the inside activities. Even on a gloomy day The Chanler affords sweeping views of First Beach, a quintessential Newport vantage point. I think the weather conditions sort of make this photo actually.Wedding at the Chanler0029Wedding at the Chanler0031

Words cannot describe the utter opulence and endless romance oozing from these photos. Thank you so much for capturing our love story. From the moment I saw your work, I knew it was love at first sight. Then meeting you ladies at your studio with Mr. Chat sealed the deal. You are talented artists and true creative souls. It has been a delight and pleasure working with you. Rue Le Chat would love to collaborate in the very near future.
