Laura + Jay’s Block Island Wedding at the Atlantic Inn

July 1, 2014

There’s nothing quite like a Block Island wedding. Block Island has endless natural beauty. It is quaint but free of pretense. It is the best place to be nostalgic and the perfect place to make new memories with the people you love.

Laura and Jay had the most appropriate wedding hashtag ever {#onislandtime}. The moment you step off the ferry onto “the Block” all your worries, stresses and problems just sail away {back to Pt. Judith… where they will be waiting for you when you return so enjoy the hiatus!}

Jay grew up visiting his grandparents home on Block Island so marrying his sweetheart here was extra sweet for him. Laura is our favorite “type” of bride. We will call her the “trusting Type A.” We admire her organized, well thought out, planned to perfection side and love the other side that lets go, lets us do our thing and lets down her hair – this is the prefect recipe for seamless FUN!

Spending the weekend with Laura and Jay’s family had us wishing we could permanently be  part of this big happy group. Who wouldn’t want 3 brothers who love and adore you, parents who couldn’t be prouder of you, and a twin sister who doubles as a best friend? We found ourselves feeling adoring and proud too and we definitely felt like we made new memories with our new friends Laura and Jay {who are moving to Providence- yippee!}. This amazing Block Island wedding was truly one to remember.

Kudos to the vendors who made Laura and Jay’s Block Island wedding day so wonderful. First shout out must be to Brad at the venue, The Atlantic Inn. Brad truly kept the day on schedule, and the revelers happy, fed and hydrated. Thank you Brad and the staff at the Atlantic Inn! Laura’s fabulous stationery was done by Digby & Rose in Washington DC. We are crazy for her ferry ticket save the dates and map of the island. The pretty florals were provided by La Bella Rose {on island}. Hair and Makeup was done by Lynda Williams of Formal Hair and Makeup Design.

We are pretty sure the beautiful weather was provided by Jay’s grandmother who unfortunately passed away before the wedding. It was her home that Jay spent his summers visiting and if she couldn’t be there in person, perhaps she made the sunshine for her grandson’s Block Island wedding.
